Brasil’s government is corrupt; they feed the tourist industry and regularly build stadiums that cost millions, even billions of dollars. Its people are starving and dying in waiting lines in hospitals. The government is doing nothing to help its people. Many people have been kicked out of their homes to make room for parking lots for stadiums, and they’ve even driven native people out of a historic building that was their home to make room for a museum for the olympic committee. Brasil is tired of its government doing nothing to help them, and their peaceful protests are met with violence.
A very good friend of mine is from and lives in Rio, and he has asked that I help spread the word. Please reblog this and share any information that you can. Brasil needs the world to watch. And please, if you plan on going to the world cup or to the olympics or know someone who is, DON’T.
